Chapter 1: Growing up, Thomas had a passion for cars and an uncle who got him into racing. In 2012, he stumbled across the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Youtube and from there on out, he had his eyes set on the goal of competing in this prestigious race one day. However, the financial side of the sport on top of not originating from a motorsports background made it difficult to find footing into this sport. Instead, Thomas spent these years focusing on school, swimming, and working out, without losing sight on his dream. In late 2018, Thomas was fortunate enough to meet Jeff Westphal, a professional racecar driver competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Series, and discuss how he climbed the motorsports ladder to get to where he is today. Where 90% of racers started with go-karting, Jeff was amongst the very few who started later with cars straight away. However, Thomas was encouraged to start with go-karting as he was still at a reasonably young age at 13. His parents offered him two racing schools for go-karting up at Sonoma Raceway where he would drive an Lo206 and Senior Rotax kart for the first time. Unfortunately, he struggled to find speed and confidence in the karts and lost sight on his dream. Although this impacted him mentally, it gave him light towards another path into the motorsports world.
